Improvement Plan 2025/26
It is the time of year when we ask you to think about how we can build on all we have achieved over the last 12 months and make our school even better, as we move into 2025/26.
You can see the priorities we set for last year by clicking the link here: http://www.glassary.argyll-bute.sch.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Priorities-summary-Glassary-Primary-School-Improvement-Plan-2024-25-Copy.pdf
We think you will agree that we have made really good progress with these over the last year, particularly if you take some time to look back at our website galleries, as well as you own child’s progress over the session.
A full evaluation of our progress will be published in our annual standards and quality report which will be issued next month.
Staff have already had some useful discussions about our key areas of focus for next session and have suggested the following:
- FURTHER DEVELOP OUR WHOLE COMMUNITY UNDERSTANDING OF OUR SHARED VISION, VALUES AND AIMS –
Suggested actions:
- Develop pupil and family understand of the meaning of Ready, Respectful, Safe and the use of restorative approaches to support positive relationships
- Further involve family members and community partners in promoting respectful and safe play, both in school and beyond the school day
- Involve families as we progress on our journey to become a Silver and then Gold Rights Respecting School
- ENSURING DEPTH, BREADTH AND CHALLENGE FOR ALL LEARNERS –
Suggested actions:
- Further develop interdisciplinary learning and curriculum rationale
- Develop progression frameworks for the wider curriculum areas and ensure that they link and cross reference, as well as linking to progression frameworks for literacy and numeracy
- Access expertise in specific curricular areas from staff in our sister school
- FURTHER INCREASE FAMILY ENGAGEMENT/INVOLVEMENT-
Suggested actions:
- Offer more opportunities for parents/carers to learn alongside pupils in school
- Provide termly curriculum overviews showing planned learning and themes, which parents/carers can pick up on at home
- Review our communication strategy and protocols – how best do we communicate around learning with families?
Please email your feedback and ideas to enquiries-glassary@argyll-bute.gov.uk with the title Improvement Suggestions by Friday 30th May.
