Dear families

Another brief update from me with some information that you may find useful and a reminder of some key dates between now and the summer.

Staff absence

Please note that Mrs Bolwell has been off and we have not had any clerical cover, apart from me. I check emails and voice messages (enquiries-glassary@argyll-bute.gov.uk and 01546 605219) before and after school and we will respond to you as soon as we are able. If you need to contact us urgently, please follow the usual procedures, outlined here: https://www.glassary.argyll-bute.sch.uk/week-beginning-5th-june/

Staffing

I am delighted to announce that following competitive interviews, we have made the following appointments:

  • Mrs Lisa Speechley has been appointed to the post of permanent Clerical Assistant and will start in post on 11th August
  • Ms Hirra Mahmood has been appointed to the post of Classroom Teacher (Temporary) at Glassary Primary School for session 2023/24. She will share the P1 to 3 class with Ms Kennedy and teach across both classes to cover staff planning and preparation time.

I know that you and the pupils will join us in making our new team members very welcome.

P7 Leavers’ Hoodies

It has been lovely to see our P7s wearing their Leavers’ Hoodies this week. They are very pleased with them and we are very grateful to Mrs Cameron for organising them. The only problem is that we are now constantly reminded that the pupils only have 7 and a half days left with us. We are really going to miss them!

You can check out the pictures here:  https://www.glassary.argyll-bute.sch.uk/p7-leavers-hoodies/

P1 to 3 trip to the Vic 32

As you will know from my previous emails and the children themselves we had an absolutely fabulous trip to the Vic 32 Puffer and the Crinan Harbour on Wednesday last week. Many thanks to Ms Kennedy for arranging this.

The children were an absolute credit to our school and lots of the adults we met and worked with on the Puffer and Canal commented on their manners and lovely behaviour. You can see the photos here: https://www.glassary.argyll-bute.sch.uk/p1-to-3-trip-to-the-vic-32/

Reminder – new lunch ordering and payment system

We are delighted that so many of you have registered to order and/or pay for lunches with Ipayimpact. This system has been rolled out in many schools across the authority and made paying and ordering so much easier.

Please be aware that until after the summer, starter and pudding choices will not be available online but pupils will be able to choose these in school.

If you are experiencing any issues, please check out the Frequently Asked Questions here http://www.glassary.argyll-bute.sch.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/I-Payimpact-Frequently-asked-questions-for-families.pdf
