Welcome back everyone, we hope you all had a restful October holiday and are ready for the term ahead!
Curriculum Cafe 1
The children had a busy time before the holiday including holding our first Curriculum Cafe.
It was absolutely brilliant to welcome so many of our families into our classrooms and watch them engage with their children and their work respectively. The pride was absolutely bursting out of the parents (and teachers too)!
Please don’t worry if you missed this event, many of our families were unable to attend due to other commitments or planned holidays. We are holding these events every second month, our next is on Monday 1st of December at 2:30pm.
In the future these events will be an opportunity for further engagement with families regarding improvement plans and curriculum development as well, however for the time being, please enjoy these events as a simple opportunity to engage with your child and their work in the classroom environment.
Upcoming Events this Term
As always term 2 is looking like a busy one, I am working hard to ensure that I keep our online calendar up-to-date with as many important events as possible but as I’m sure you’re aware, things are always changing.
October
Emily Love from the Patch Project will be visiting P4-7 on the 28th, flu vaccinations are on the 29th and the Parent Council Hallowe’en disco is on the 30th at 6:30pm-7:30pm at Glassary Primary School. We will also be having a special visit on Friday 31st of October in the afternoon – your children will be given some ‘trick or treats’ on this day – all treats will be individually packaged and the children will be asked to keep these until home time and ask for parental permission before consumption (this is in line with Argyll and Bute Guidance).
November
Starting in November, Active Schools will be delivering a 6-week long block of rugby skills development coached by Arran Martin. Reports will be issued in the middle of November and there is a Teacher in-service day on Monday the 24th, please note that children will not attend school on this day.
For further and more detailed information regarding upcoming events, please look at our online school calendar which can be found by clicking the link on the homepage of our website.
