Staffing update

I am absolutely delighted to inform you that, following a highly competitive selection process, Hirra has been appointed to the role of Class Teacher in Glassary Primary School on a permanent basis.

I am sure you will join me in congratulating Hirra; we are very pleased that she will be continuing as part of our team.

Street Drumming with Martin Douglas

The children and staff really enjoyed our first session of Street Drumming with Martin Douglas on Monday and we are really looking forward to him returning over the coming weeks.

Music with Laura Stone

We are are also looking forward to welcoming Laura back this term for her wonderful music sessions; this term she plans to be in after lunch on 8th May, 15th May, 22nd May, 29th May, 12th June and 19th June and work with both classes. We hope that we will have some music from these sessions to share with you at our P7 Leaver’s Assembly and end of year celebration on Monday 23rd June.

Communication with school

As you know, on Tuesday 29th April, Teams telephony replaced Skype telephony for our school and staff.  We now have an answerphone system that does not allow callers to leave a message before 9am. We are looking into whether and how we can change this but in the meantime, please use our email address to share any information with us ahead of the start of the school day: enquiries-glassary@argyll-bute.gov.uk

Whole School Learning Together Trip.

Please note that, due to coach availability, the confirmed that for this is now Thursday 29th May – please save the date as we would love as many of you to come along with your child as possible. Mrs McLymont is finalising details and you will receive information and consent forms next week.

P7 Leavers Hoodies

Parents of our P7 pupils should look out for an email explaining how these can be ordered; we are very grateful to Lorna Mitchell for organising this.

P7 residential

Please find information sheets and consent forms for this in bags today (Friday 2nd May). Please return the consent forms at your earliest convenience.

STEMOVATORS – Oban, Tuesday 6th May

We wish Mrs McClymont’s class all the very best for their presentations in Oban on Tuesday. They have worked so incredibly hard on their Climate-Ready Classroom Models and deserve huge praise for their teamwork, creativity and implementation of their STEM learning.

Have a great weekend. Please be aware that we do NOT have Monday 5th May off for the early May Bank Holiday but the children will have more fabulous street drumming with Martin to look forward to!
