We have had the most fabulous week of learning in school and I was really lucky to get to teach the P4 to 7 class yesterday as Mrs Goodwin is away this week and next. If you get a chance over the weekend to see any Paralympics coverage, ask your P4 to 7 child about Charlie from Cumbria…Please also ask them about the music session they had on Monday with the fabulously talented music teacher Laura Stone who will be working across the school this session. More information and pictures will follow……
Upcoming events
Don’t forget to check the school calendar for upcoming events in addition to those detailed below:

Parent Council
I met with our fabulous parent council members last night and we made some very exciting plans for this term:
Glassary Halloween disco
The date will be Wednesday 30th October. The children will make decorations in school for this, as part of their creative arts learning tasks and in line with our learning for sustainability improvement plan project. We would love to see as many of you there as possible with your children.
Christmas tree parent council fundraiser
This year when the parent council sells Christmas Trees, we want to extend the event into an outdoor fayre where we have carols and the children sell small decorations which they have made in school The provisional date is Friday 13th after school. We are hoping that Polly’s Coffee and Rolling Pizza might come and provide refreshments.
The next Glassary Parent Council meeting is on Thursday 24th October at 7.30pm in school. Please come along if you possibly can.
Painting aprons
We love to be creative and messy in our school when we are learning, particularly in art and craft activities. In order to reduce your washing requirements, can we ask that you send in a labelled old shirt or long-sleeved large t-shirt (clearly labelled with your child’s name) that can be used as a craft apron. If you cannot do this, please let us know and we will provide an alternative.
Have a lovely week and you know how to contact me, if you need anything.
