Family Update – June 2026

June 2026 - Family Update

We have had a busy few weeks here at Glassary – time for an update and a look back to reflect as we slide towards the end of the school year.

Our P7s have recently returned from their residential trip to Lochranza, and while the weather was not perfect, they all had a great time and enjoyed the activities and getting to spend time with the P7s from Tayvallich and Kilmartin. We hope the time spent together has given them confidence as they go into induction days at the High School this week.

We hosted a Joint Schools Day here at Glassary on Monday 8th June – it was our ‘Greatest Athlete’ visit from Jonny Paterson, who came to talk to us about his inspiring journey of resilience and determination to become a Paralympian. As part of the build up to the day, the children were tasked with fundraising for the event and managed to raise a whopping total of £1207!  We also spent time working on our Joint Schools Topic ‘Our Local Communities and Why the Local Community is Important to us’.

A couple of dates for your diary – our Leavers Assembly will be held on the 22nd of June 2:15pm, and Sports day on the 26th of June, at Tayvallich – more information about both of these events will be sent out to parents once details have been finalised.

And finally, our last day of term is Wednesday 1st July – hooray! The school will close at 1:30pm. Please note that hot lunches will be served as usual, so don’t forget to get your orders in!
