We have so enjoyed being back at school and seeing the children this week. Although it has been very cold and there have been a lot of winter bugs going around, we have made sure that everyone has been warm and cosy when learning inside and wrapped up well for the weather when learning and playing outside. The coats provided by the Parent Council last term have been a huge help with this.
Fabulous Family Fridays
As you will know, as part of our family involvement in learning project and our exploration of the world of work project, we have asked for parent and family volunteers to come and talk to the children about the work they do. We plan to start this on Fridays after the February break. Pupils in Mrs McClymont’s class have also invited some members of the local community who do jobs that they are interested in to come and talk to us, which ww are really looking forward to and links back to our visit from Seonaidh MacKenzie, the BBC journalist, last session.
We are also looking for volunteers from school families or the local community to come and do some reading and play activities with the children on a regular basis. If you would be able to do this, or know of someone in the community that would like to help out, please contact us via the enquiries email.
