As we slide in to October it is hard to believe that we have only been back at school for 7 whole weeks.
As you may be aware, the education strategy and guiding vision created by Argyll and Bute Council is “Our Children, their future”, which has been developed to shape learning and community support for young people. The Showcase was an excellent opportunity to cement elements from “Our Children, their future” and from our topic this term, as it focussed on our community. We had sessions doing rubbings at the cup and ring marks, and interviewed members of our local community to find out what was important to them. The children did an incredible job showing what parts of our community matter to them through their performance and the work put on display. The staff are all very proud of the Glassary pupils and the dedication and enthusiasm they gave to the day.
Our most recent Curriculum Café was a success with many parents attending, we would like to thank all those who gave feedback on their assessment forms. Our next Curriculum Café will be on 9th November.
The Story Wagon came to Glassary earlier in September, which proved to be a huge hit. The children enjoyed creative writing, traditional storytelling and story sharing activities.
The October holiday is delightfully imminent, the school will close on Friday 2nd October, we hope you all have a wonderful break, and we will see you all back at Glassary on Monday 19th October.
To help welcome the children back MAYDS will be here to run a lantern making workshop on the 20th October, enabling Glassary families to attend the Lantern Parade in Lochgilphead on 7th November.
